Corleone in Sicily was too commercially developed
in the early 1970’s for an authentic filming of the
Godfather movie. So the towns of Savoca and Forza
d’Agro were used instead. Both towns retain the
spirit of old Sicily combined now with a tour de
force brought about by worldwide recognition.
 In Savoca is the tiny wedding church where Michael
and Apollonia were married in the film. Follow
their footsteps in the procession through the village
to the Bar Vitelli. Inside the Bar Vitelli you will
find the original 1930’s machine which was a sink, a
fridge and a Granita machine combined.
Afterward retire to the fully restored suburb of San
Rocca, where a stylish resort has been created from
the old village stone houses. The exterior of the
buildings rendered in traditional local stone, but the
interiors reflect the best of contemporary Italian
style, with the now expected high tech conveniences.
The Borgo has its own fine dining restaurant in
house to celebrate an elaborate dinner for a small
wedding party or a romantic dinner for two.
Wedding Sicilian Family Style
Imagine a farmhouse surrounded by rolling
hills and a glimpse of the Ionian Sea. Idyllic
vistas in all directions.
 Even a traditional Sicilian Carrettu to carry
the bride.
Then imagine the scent of lemon and orange
